Axwell – 3001, Düsseldorf – 05.06.2010

// Juni 6th, 2011 // Kommentare deaktiviert // Events

Next Stopover – Dusseldorf. the second third of the Swedish House Mafia. Axwell himself at the 3001 nightclub! a great weekend in Cologne and Dusseldorf, a great night at the 3001, a great set from axwell. pretty progessiv, not so much typical axwell sounds, but nevertheless absolutely stunning. he dropped tracks like his open your heart / the message bootleg, of course LTWB and the brand new club banger „one“ – the crowded dancefloor went crazy. technically spoken it was brilliant.

We first spent the evening in cologne. we took some drinks at Chris‘ place (nice roof-terrace), then we had a nice meal at a mexican restaurant with chris‘ brother simon. at about 11 am we hopped into the train to dusseldorf, which took us about half an hour.

After a little walk through dusseldorf from the main station to the office area called Medienhafen, we arrived at the club. on our little march we also did a little sightseeing stop at some famous architecture bulildings from Fank O. Gehry. At the 3001 there were already waiting a lot of people in the queue. thank god we‘ve had bought some early bird tickets with a separate entrance at the backdoor. no queue, friendly security guys.

We entered the gallery to order some drinks and to watch Patrick La Funk do his job as warmup DJ. the 3001 is pretty expensive concerning the drinks. but special evenings require special budget ;-) axwell entered the booth about half past 2 and played a 2 hour set. right in time we left the gallery and grabbed a place in front of the booth to be part of the action. after his set, axel was very polite and approachable. he shot some pix with fans and chatted a lil with some „groupy guys“ from braunschweig who are really true supporters.

About half past 4 we left the club, grabbed a taxi this time to the main station. we took a train back to cologne and took a last drink at chris‘ terrace. this evening was the start of a really great time and a deep friendship and a shared passion for house music!

Dirty South – 8 Seasons, Munic – 16.07.2010

// Juli 17th, 2010 // Kommentare deaktiviert // Events

The next stopover was munich again. and it was one of the craziest so far. due to following reasons: Dirty South in the house, my birthday in the house, my best friends and family members on tour, way too much alcohol :D

We arrived in munich about 10 pm with 2 of my best friends and the girl of one of em. we first did some drinks at my sister‘s place and refreshed a lil bit, because it was a very hot summer saturday evening. the we met with my cousin (who was actually stuyding in munich at that time) and went to a flat share party. I didn‘t knew anyone there but the guys I was on tour with. but all the round about 50 people in this crowded flat started singing „happy birhtday“ for me at 12 pm. it was so funny and I was the happiest person in town, I guess ;)

At about 1 am we left, after having some drinks and funny conversations with different people. we grabbed a taxi to the „8 seasons“ club at the sonnenstraße, a very central party location in munich with one club following another.

We entered the 8 seasons (nice location, pretty cladding) and Dirty South just had started his set. we grabbed some other drinks (which acutally was so gratuitous, but fuck it, it was my birthday) and located in front of his decks. I freaked out to some SHM tracks, Axwell‘s and Dirty‘s „in the air“ remix, and of course one of my favorites in 2010, Seb‘s and Dirty‘s „Silvia“ remix. In the end I tool the chance to enter the booth. Pretty strange feeling, standing behind the Decks. after Dragan finisehd his set I got the chance to do a pic with him. I guess I was so annoying due to „some“ drinks too much ;)

The rest of the evening I  better keep a secret. just some keywords: drinks, drinks, taxi, a long walk home … and probably my best birthday party so far :)

Axwell – Düsseldorf 3001 – 05.06.2010

Saturday night Axwell rocked the 3001 in Düsseldorf. It was absolutely awesome, only a little bit too much deep house & minimal for my taste.

Axwell - Düsseldorf 3001 - 05.06.2010

I found a good video here:

In two weeks you can rock the 3001 with Afrojack (Saturday, 19-06-10). More information on: www.d-3001.de

Erick Morillo – Neuraum, Munic – 23.05.2010

// Mai 24th, 2010 // Kommentare deaktiviert // Events

Second Stopover – Munich again. A few weeks later, on the 23rd of may, Mr. Erick Morillo himself dropped one of his legendary sets at a spot called Neuraum. No doubt that he didn‘t do it without me ;-) so glad that my sisters lives in Munich for work! so we always had a spot so sleep and to do little warmup-parties ;-)

The Neuraum is a huge nightclub, separated into 3 floors. the mainfloor is rather a concert-hall then a dancefloor. it‘s just huge. nevertheless, the place was pretty much crowded when we arrived at 1.15 am, right in time for ericks show. and morillo just blew us all away!

Until now, this set was the best DJ-set I‘ve ever heard! it was just amazing. so full of emotions, so smooth, so passionate. just like ericks perfomance as itself! he‘s a legend. He just startet with his banger „nothing better“ feat my boy Eddie Thoneick, and dropped all kind of massive tunes like the in the air remix from axwell and finally the legenday bootleg of how soon is now / clocks / meich – goosebumps!

I returned to my sister‘s place at about half past 5. one of the most formative party-evenings of my life.

Sebastian Ingrosse – Pacha, Munic – 26.02.2010

// Februar 27th, 2010 // Kommentare deaktiviert // Events

On the 26th of feburary 2010 a new era started for us – the era of travelling hundreds of miles to see the hottest DJs in the scene in the hottest clubs and festivals both in germany and all over europe. the Stopover idea was born! And what DJ better to begin with then with the mighty Sebastian Ingrosso, owner of refune records and one third of the Swedish House Mafia?

Seb was announced to play a 2 hour set at the famous Pacha Munich. As I am studying in Stuttgart, it‘s more then 300 miles or about a 2 hour drive by car. We arrived at the Pacha half past 10 (cause we didn‘t have any tickets and any experience with such DJ-events), entered the spot and first of all enjoyed some – pretty expensive :-( – wodka bull drinks. Munich is that much high society, damit! but actually I love this city. It is so beautiful, has got a lovely character und loads of pretty pretty girls ;-) the warmup-dj heated up the crowded dancefloor with some really nice tech-house tunes.

Seb entered the booth at half past 1. He performed a nice, but not extraordinary progressive set, playing classics like the balearic soul mix if born again, and of course some of his new bangers like „kidsos“ and the mighty „leave the world behind“, which made us hardcore fans go crazy and jump around in front of  his decks. All in all, it was not a perfect evening, but a really nice DJ-set. my first one from a superstar DJ, and definitely not my last one. and it was the beginning of my own golden era of house music.

Erick Morillo, An21+Max Vangeli, Axwell, A-Trak, Fedde le Grand, Laidback Luke, Joris Voorn, Sharam, Congorock, Boys Noize, Dirty South, Erol Alkan … the all should follow up! all over europe, from munich to cologne, from berlin to stuttgart, from belgium to the czech republic! (unfortunaetly not all with reviews and pics, but sometimes there was alcohol with us, too ;-) )

So let‘s see where electronic dance music will take us in the future ;-)
